Robbery at met office security official's house

Gias Uddin, a met office security official, and his family members were sleeping when six armed youths barged into their second floor room at 2:30am by cutting the window grill.

The looters took them hostage at gunpoint and took away 20 tola jewellery and Tk 7,000 in cash.

In the first information report, filed with the Mohammadpur Police Station, Gias said the robbers threatened him of dire consequences if they shouted at the time of their leaving.

However, police could not recover the booty or arrest anyone till writing of this report at 7:00pm yesterday.
