Bangladesh Telephone and Telegraph Protection Committee (BTTPC) Chittagong unit held a rally on the local T&T office premises in the port city yesterday protesting government move to turn the state-run organisation into a company.

BTTPC also took out a procession on the Agrabad T&T office premises in the city at 11am. They held the rally as part of the programmes announced by the BTTPC central committee.

They also demanded of the authorities to offer 10 lakh cellular phones through T&T in the market immediately.

BTTPC Chittagong unit president Abdullah Mohiuddin presided. CBA general secretary of Chittagong region unit Mohammed Lokman Hossain, senior vice president Nurul Islam, joint secretary Abdul Malek, organising secretary Saber Ahmed, Mohammed Anwarullah, Aiyube Chowdhury, Abdus Sukkur and Abdul Quader Talukder also spoke at the rally.
