30 hurt as train derails in Mymensingh

Railway sources and witnesses said a compartment of the 273 down train bound for Mymensingh went off the track at about 7pm near the outer signal of Shyamganj Station.

A preliminary inquiry report said the accident occurred because the center-pin was missing at a point along the railroad near the scene.

Rescue operation did not start till 8:15pm.

Of the injured,ten were admitted to different hospitals while others given first aid

Ten critically injured people were treated at different hospitals.
