Three killed in Mymensingh boat capsize

Witnesses and police said the boat sank in the Durgan river at about 4:30 pm on its way to Purura Bazar from Gangail Para.

Five passengers were washed away by strong current of swollen river while 11 others swam ashore.

Later, the local people recovered the bodies of Rais Uddin, 50, Muahammad Ali, 48, and Raisuddin, 40, from the river.

Two other passengers remained missing.

Police visited the spot, 40 kilometres north of the district town.
