Two killed, 10 hurt in Habiganj

The dead were identified as Dhonu Miah, 48, a former member of Sujatpur Union Parishad and Golap Miah, 45.

Police said the trouble started when a group led by Dhonu Miah and Golap Miah went to Bhandar Beel in a boat allegedly for stealing fish at 5am. They faced resistance from another group.

Both sides used lethal weapons during the clash.

Golap Miah suffered injuries and died on way to hospital. But the body of Dhonu Miah, who fell from the boat into the water, was recovered six hours after the clash.
