Danida, a Danish organisation, suspended its support following the abduction of two Danish and a British citizens on February 16,2001 at Kala Pahar in Naniarchar upazila of Rangamati.
Congenial atmosphere returned in the CHT region led Danida Aid Assessment Mission (DAAM) to resume development support.
The Tk 8 crore (10 million Danish Krona) aid will be spent on hygiene and sanitation promotion, and clean water supply, a draft proposed.
Danish embassy made the draft on May 11 this year at a restaurant in Rangamati.
The fund management will be given to an 11-member committee headed by the CHT Regional Council chairman. But due to the opposition to the committee from some non-government organisations, the Danish embassy decided to go for further examinations, sources added.
The draft was forwarded to the Economic Relations Division (ERD) of the Ministry of Finance.
The draft was also sent to the Hill District Councils (HDCs) of Rangamati, Khagrachhari and Bandarban.
