4 BITs upgraded to full-fledged universities

The bills are Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology Bill, 2003, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology Bill, 2003, Khulna University of Engineering and Technology Bill, 2003, and Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology University, Gazipur, Bill, 2003.

The name Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology, Gazipur was changed from Gazipur University of Engineering and Technology through an amendment.

Earlier, two separate obituary references condoling the death of former caretaker government adviser and eminent lawyer Barrister Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed and the deaths of an unspecified number of people in the recent launch capsize were also taken.

The current budget session of parliament is scheduled to end today.
