Cyber pirates hack into Barisal DC office Internet account
Sources said the computer hacking incident was revealed after the DC office received a heavily bloated Internet bill and lodged a complaint with the Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone Board (BTTB), which is the internet service provider for the DC office.
The hackers, who somehow got hold of the password of the account, accessed it from several places in town including an IT firm, residences of an ADC and a joint secretary, and a pharmaceutical company.
Local BTTB authorities are reportedly in the process of disconnecting the phone lines that were used for hacking. One of the hackers have been identified as Shamim, a former employee of a local IT firm who had been fired from his job. Shamim has gone into hiding.
