American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) and The Daily Prothom Alo signed a contract for jointly organising quiz contest on computing technology on June 21, says a press release. All educational institutions of the country will get the opportunity to take part in the contest. Carmen Z. Lamagna, vice chancellor, AIUB and Motiur Rahman, editor of Prothom Alo signed the contract. Dr. Anwarul Abedin, founder chairman of AIUB and Prof. T Hossain, Pro vice chancellor were also present during the signing ceremony.

DNS signs agreement for ATM & POS Switch

DNS SatComm Ltd., recently signed an agreement for implementing Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) and multi channel payment processing switch with Makeena Corporation, Malaysia for country's banking and financial industry with its Shared ATM & POS Network "BancNet", says a press release.

The switch software is developed by OASIS Technology, Canada, the global payment industry leader. Makeena Corporation is working with OASIS Technologies, Canada as the master distributor in the Asia Pacific region. Under this agreement, Makeena along with DNS will implement IST/Switch for DNS "BancNet".

Programming contest

Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of Northern University, Bangladesh (NUB) formed NUB Programming Club and the first intra-university programming contest at NUB campus on June 23, says a press release.
