Ten people, who were diagnosed with coronavirus in Sylhet and Bogura last month, left hospitals today after their recovery.

Of them, five youths, including an intern doctor, were released from a hospital in Sylhet, while five others were released in Bogura, reports our local correspondents.

In Sylhet, the five youths were greeted with flowers while being released from the Corona Isolation Centre at Sylhet Shahid Shamsuddin Ahmed District Hospital, said Brig Gen Dr Younusur Rahman, superintendent of the hospital.

After being discharged, the intern doctor said, "I had fever and chest pain, but my [breathing] was good and the doctors gave me treatment following WHO guidelines.

"I urge those infected with Covid-19 to not lose their mental strength," he advised.

Dr Sushanto Kumar Mahapatro, resident medical officer of the hospital, said the five were released as they had no fever and tested Covid-19 negative twice following their treatment.

Another 14 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at the isolation centre and none of them are in critical condition, he said.

In Bogura, five patients recovered from the virus within a few days at Mohammad Ali Hospital, said Shafique Amin Kajal, the residential officer of the hospital.

They were released today as they were found Covid-19 negative in two consecutive tests, he added.

The five are: a 25-year-old staffer of a private hospital and a 47-year-old housewife admitted there on April 22; a 28-year-old garments worker on April 23; a 28-year-old college teacher on April 24 and a 40-year-old man in last week of April, the RMO said.

With the five, a total of seven people out of 25 Covid-19 patients have been released in the district so far, said Bogura Civil Surgeon Gaosul Azim Chowdhury.
