A Chhatra Dal leader from Noakhali died from electrocution while undergoing treatment at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) this morning.

The deceased was identified as Enamul Haque, 22, former president of Ward No 8 Chhatra Dal, Kabirhat Municipality.

The accident occurred around 11:00am on November 15, in an under-construction building in Kabirhat Bazar of the upazila.

Abdullah Al Mamun, the brother of the deceased, said that Enamul used to work as a technician of Thai aluminum. He was electrocuted on November 15, while working in an under-construction building.

Locals immediately rescued him and took him to the Kabirhat Upazila Health Complex. After receiving primary treatment, he was transferred to the burn unit of DMCH for advanced treatment.

Mostafizur Rahman Monju, convenor of Kabirhat Pouro BNP (Municipal BNP), confirmed the information to The Daily Star.

Md Shahin Mia, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kabirhat Police Station, said that action would be taken if the deceased's family filed a complaint.
