Filmmaker Srijit Mukherji has unveiled the first glimpse of his upcoming film "Emperor vs Sarat Chandra", with Tota Roy Choudhury appearing as legendary Bengali novelist Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay.

Actors Abir Chatterjee and Tota Roy Choudhury are set to headline Srijit Mukherji’s upcoming period drama “Emperor vs Sarat Chandra”, the director confirmed to The Telegraph Online.

Tota dreams of working in Bangladesh and collaborating with its filmmakers and actors. “Both our countries have immensely talented artistes. Why should bureaucratic hurdles stand in the way? Artistes have always been free-spirited, and complicating these exchanges only restricts creativity. We share the same language, culture, artistic sensibilities—our collaboration should be seamless.”

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting granted permission to 19 Indian artistes to act in the Bangladeshi movie titled "Nalini." The Ministry has given their approval through a written notification on February 5. The film is under production by the Bangladeshi company Bashundhara Entertainment Company Limited.
