Nearly 600 people have died and millions have been affected by monsoon floods in South Asia, officials say, as relief and rescue operations continue.

The death toll in flooding and landslides that devastated parts of northern India, southern Nepal and Bangladesh over the past few days has risen to 245, while millions of others have been displaced, officials say.
