Japanese conglomerate SoftBank Group has obtained a $40 billion bridge loan to support its investments in OpenAI, and for general corporate purposes, the Japanese investment conglomerate said last week.

SoftBank Group has finalised a $41 billion investment in OpenAI, acquiring an approximate 11% stake in the ChatGPT developer. The funding round is one of the largest ever private investments.

Speaking alongside Trump, Son confirmed the investment company's financial commitment, adding that Trump's victory had "tremendously increased" his confidence in the US economy.
