Going to a cinema hall to watch one’s first film is always a memorable experience etched in the mind. In childhood, most people watch their first film with family members, and celebrities are no exception. Watching films during Eid has long been a cherished tradition. Four prominent stars of the country shared their first cinema-going experiences—where they watched their first films and which films they saw—with The Daily Star.

The upcoming Eid special episode of “Ityadi” will present a thought-provoking group song highlighting social decay and moral contradictions in contemporary society.

Adapted from a beloved novel by Humayun Ahmed’s novel “Kichukkhon”, the film “Bonolota Express” is all set to go on the floors from December 15.

Sariful Razz’s latest film, “Insaaf”, directed by Sanjoy Somadder, was released this Eid-ul-Azha initially across 16 theatres in Bangladesh. With Tasnia Farin also in a leading role, the film features Mosharraf Karim in a key role.

Tasnia Farin is set to make her commercial film debut with “Insaaf”, releasing this Eid. The newly released song “Akashete Lokhho Tara 2.0” introduces Farin in a role distinctly different from her earlier screen appearances. 

After receiving praise from audiences across all age groups on the big screen, OTT platforms, and television channels, Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Raz’s directorial venture “Omar” has now made its way to YouTube. The film was released on the Cinemawala channel at 12 pm on May 22.

The much-anticipated character poster of Tasnia Farin from the upcoming Eid release “Insaaf” has been revealed.

Shooting for “Tandob”, directed by Raihan Rafi, has commenced this week at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC). Actors Shakib Khan and Jaya Ahsan have already joined the production.

This film will showcase Sariful Razz in a dynamic action role, while Mosharraf Karim is set to play a dark, villainous character. The project marks the return of production house Titas Kathachitra, which has been absent from filmmaking for several years.

Sariful Razz and Bidya Sinha Mim are teaming up once again for a movie. The duo will be seen on-screen in the film “Danob”. 

This year, an estimated 50 Bangladeshi films have been released. Among these, only a handful have achieved commercial success. Then again, despite not performing well at the box office, other cinematic aspects like actors, actresses, and film songs have managed to remain at the centre of discussions throughout the year.

Director Mejbaur Rahman Sumon, known for his success with “Hawa,” is now preparing for his next project titled “Roid,” featuring Nazifa Tushi and Mostafizur Noor Imran in lead roles.

Rafi, known for his hit films like “Poran” and “Damal,” among others broke the news about this next venture yesterday. Speaking to Bangla Tribune, he revealed, “My next film, which is slated for release during the upcoming Eid, is titled ‘Lion’. It will feature two leading men—Jeet from Tollywood and Razz from Dhallywood. Everything else you’ve heard is just rumours.”

On September 17 of last year, the popular showbiz duo, Sariful Razz and Pori Moni, parted ways amidst marital strife. As the one-year anniversary of their split approached this past Tuesday, Pori Moni chose to mark the occasion in an unconventional way.

Yesterday, Pori Moni shared the first glimpse of her daughter in a video from Punnyo’s birthday party, where she was seen cutting the cake with her two children.

During his stay in America, the actor took the opportunity to catch a Bangladeshi film at the theatre, and it was none other than the "Deyaler Desh".

“Deyaler Desh”, a government grant-winning film co-produced by Metro Cinema, also stars Azizul Hakim, Shahdat Hossain, Shamapti Mashuk, and Swagata, amongst others.

Earlier in September of last year, small screen producer Himu Akram announced Indian actress Swastika Mukherjee as the lead for his upcoming film “Altabanu Josna Dekheni”. However, her male counterpart remained undisclosed until now.
