The Police Headquarters requests people to lodged complaint dialling the national emergency number 999 or inform nearby police station if shop owners demand exorbitant price for salt.

Salt Mills Owners Association says that a group of unscrupulous people have spread rumours over salt price with an aim to destroy the industry and to create an unstable situation in the government.

A rumour has spread about the price hike of salt at different parts of the country including Dhaka.

Calling upon all not to be confused over salt price rumour, the government says there is no shortage of salt in the country right now.
