“Nishi”, the first Bangladeshi film to win the prestigious Environmental Media Association (EMA) Award in the United States, is set for its Bangladesh premiere next week. According to production house International Academy of Film and Media, the film will be screened on December 6 at 3pm at the German Cultural Centre in Dhaka as part of the European Film Festival.

Earlier, the film “Nishi,” directed by Golam Rabbani and Mohammad Zahirul Islam (Kochi), made history as the first Bangladeshi entry to be nominated in the 35-year history of the Environmental Media Association (EMA) Awards. Following its nomination, it went on to win in the IAFM – Eco Film Lab Residency category.
