A suicide bomber from Somalia's Shabaab insurgents kill 18 police officers and wounds 15 others when he blew himself up inside the country's main police academy, the force's chief say.

More than 276 people are killed by twin bomb blasts that struck busy junctions in the heart of Somalia's capital Mogadishu, officials say, marking the deadliest attacks since an Islamist insurgency began in 2007.
