Maja Chwalinska will bid to become only the second qualifier in the professional era to win a Grand Slam title on Saturday after a run that has been "hard to process", but faces her toughest test yet in the final against Mirra Andreeva.

The 19-year-old Russian took one hour and 16 minutes to overcome her Ukrainian opponent. Andreeva will play either compatriot Diana Shnaider or Pole Maja Chwalinska in Saturday's final.

Alexander Zverev breezed past Rafael Jodar to stay on course for an elusive Grand Slam title at the French Open, where Marta Kostyuk and Mirra Andreeva will meet for a place in the women's final.

Mirra Andreeva outclassed Sorana Cirstea 6-0, 6-3 to book her spot in the semi-finals of the French Open on Tuesday, a year on from her painful defeat at the same stage when the frustrated teenager blasted a ball into the Parisian crowd.

"When I was walking on court a little girl put a drawing on my bench, I kept it. It's my lucky charm," she said.

Russian teenager Mirra Andreeva became the youngest Grand Slam semi-finalist since 1997 with a shock victory over second seed Aryna Sabalenka, who was struggling with an apparent illness, at the French Open on Wednesday.

Down 5-1 in the deciding set, Andreeva reeled off five games in a row.

In her fourth Grand Slam main draw appearance since making her debut at last year's French Open, Andreeva showed maturity beyond her years as Jabeur desperately sought answers from her coaching team after the early jolt.

Swiatek blitzed 80th-ranked Wang Xinyu of China 6-0, 6-0 on the back of 21 winners as the 22-year-old Pole took another step closer to becoming the first woman since Justine Henin in 2007 to win back-to-back titles at Roland Garros.
