Bangladesh 'A' began their tour of the West Indies on a familiar note resembling the national team as the Mohammad Mithun-led side suffered a top order batting collapse against the West Indies 'A' on a shortened opening day of the four-day match in Saint Lucia on Thursday.

Ahead of Bangladesh’s two-Test series against the West Indies, all eyes were on the Tigers’ top-order in their three-day warm-up game against CWI President’s XI in Antigua that concluded yesterday. However, other than Tamim Iqbal’s unbeaten 162, there weren’t many highlights for the Tigers in the batting department.

Mahmudul Hasan Joy’s inclusion in the Test side could help could be the answer to Bangladesh’s long search for an opening partner to Tamim Iqbal, with the youngster already showing glimpses of his ability in the longest format of the game.
