After a long gap of 15 years, Shahriar Nazim Joy and Kusum Sikder are set to share the screen once again. Once a popular on-screen pair with a noticeable chemistry, the two drifted apart over time. Breaking that hiatus, they will now reunite—not in a television drama, but in the web series “Paap Kahini 2”, which is being directed by Joy himself.

The Dhaka International Film Festival is returning for its 23rd edition, scheduled to run over nine days from January 11 to January 19 next year.

Kusum Sikdar is returning to acting with her directorial debut, “Shoroter Joba”, after a lengthy break. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on October 11, aligning with Durga Puja. In addition to directing and producing the film, the actress wrote the screenplay too.

The 2010 movie “Gohine Shobdo”, directed by Khalid Mahmood Mithu, received widespread acclaim when it was released. Starring Mamnun Hasan Emon, Kusum Sikder, Masum Aziz, and Abul Hayat in lead roles, this movie narrates the relationship of a young couple in present-day Dhaka, with the country's Liberation War history and ongoing economic inequality impacting them. In my opinion, good storytelling, striking narration and apt metaphors make the movie a relevant watch to this day.
