Iraq’s top Shi’ite Muslim cleric, Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, condemns the US-Iranian military confrontation taking place on Iraqi soil, saying it risked plunging the war-ravaged country and the wider Middle East into deeper conflict.
