Senior diplomat Vinay Mohan Kwatra, known for his expertise in dealing with India’s South Asian neighbourhood, today took charge as the country’s new foreign secretary, succeeding Harsh Vardhan Shringla who retired from the service.

India's Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar will arrive in Dhaka on Wednesday on a two-day official visit to meet the government high officials to discuss Bangladesh’s security and other bilateral issues.
