A Sri Lankan court handed the British owner of a Premier League team a four-year suspended sentence on Wednesday over match-fixing in the domestic T20 cricket tournament, a judicial official told AFP.

The foreign owner of a T20 cricket team in Sri Lanka's Premier League (LPL) was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of corruption, police said, a day after a highly publicised player auction.

Lanka Premier League side Dambulla Thunders have signed Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman for the upcoming season starting on July 1.
