BNP has blamed the interim government for a spate of attacks, vandalism and arson across the country, alleging that a section within the administration is seeking to destabilise Bangladesh ahead of the upcoming election.

Though many senior BNP leaders remain unhappy with the July charter implementation order, the party is shifting its focus and speeding up election-related work, as several major tasks remain incomplete.

Although the BNP is not fully satisfied with the government’s decisions on key issues regarding the July charter’s implementation, it has chosen a softer stance over the matter, ruling out any stern move for now. 

The BNP yesterday thanked Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus for confirming the February 2026 election plan and announcing that the July charter referendum will be held on the same day.
