Beijing may have turned a corner in its battle against the city’s notorious smog and environmental consultants say the Chinese government deserves much of the credit for introducing tough anti-pollution measures.

Cars have been forced off the road and factories are closed in Beijing on Saturday after the city was once again blanketed by hazardous smog.
