Theaterian’s first production and 14th show of the famous play brought about the torturous despair of existence and set the stage on fire with eclectic performances throughout its 2:30-hour run-time at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy’s National Theatre Hall on Tuesday.

“Tirthojatri”, directed by Tauquir Ahmed, took the stage at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka recently. This production marks the 16th instalment from his theatre troupe Natyakendra. Prior to this, Tauquir presented the play to the expatriate audience at the Queens Theater in New York on March 18.

The classical music and dance programme, “Shastriosangeet Abong Nritya Utshav 2023” will be starting from 5 pm at the auditorium of the National Music and Dance Centre, BSA.

The festival was organised as a part of year-long celebrations to mark 60 years of the Bangladesh Film Parliament Movement, and 50 years of the Federation of Film Societies of Bangladesh. Eminent cultural personality, and member of the parliament Asaduzzaman Noor was present as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the festival. Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Liaquat Ali Lucky, filmmaker and film parliamentarian Morshedul Islam were present as honoured guests.
