Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen has derided the idea of day-night Test cricket, accusing administrators of "messing with the greatness" of the five-day game.

Cricket Australia says it intends to proceed with next month's contentious first-ever day-night Test despite player unease over the experimental pink ball to be used.

With the inaugural day-night Test match less than two months away, New Zealand have started to build up their preparation using the pink ball in Hamilton.
