Five places to visit in Sydney, Australia
You are in Sydney, a New South Wales district in the beautiful country of Asustralia, and you simply want to do a little more than attending weekend lunches and weekday dinner get-togethers at the various Bengali homes belonging to the Bhais and Bhabis. No doubt, you do crave for the free food that is cooked with so much love and care, but wouldn't you just love to be a tourist for once, grab a map, hop on a train or a bus and check out a few places on your own?
1* Milson's Point: First stop would definitely be Milson's Point, where you will find families with picnic baskets, playing catch with a ball or simply walking or jogging by the sea. The best part about Milson's is that you will find the perfect spot to photograph the famous Opera House, and so much more!
2* Bondi Beach: One of the most visited tourist sites in Australia, this beach is also most visited by people living in the nearby suburbs, not to mention the Bondi suburb as well. A fantastic location for surfing, the Bondi Beach is filled with people involved with many kinds of sports and fitness activities. In fact, the Bondi Beach is represented in one of the most popular sporting competitions across Australia, the National Rugby League competition, by the local team the Sydney Roosters, officially the Eastern Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club.
3* The Gap: Located in an area called Watson, the Gap is nicknamed as the Suicide Point. Many are said to have jumped from the cliff, located at the Gap, and killed themselves. True to the name, the Gap is filled with writings in pens and stones of one lined poems, eulogies and love notes -- written right before the jump! The authorities have now barred the edges of the cliff with railings to stop these suicides. Nevertheless, the Gap is one of the most beautiful spots in Sydney, and will amaze one with its natural wonders -- cliffs, mountains, a quick run down to the nearest coffee shop!
4* Featherdale Wildlife Park: A sanctuary for animals and birds alike, Featherdale is an amazing place for friends to hang out, not to mention children and young people to interact with the animals and birds roaming about. Of course, one would have to be an animal lover to gather the courage to feed a kangaroo or caress a sleeping koala bear!
5* Wattamolla Beach: Get a dear friend to drive you to the Wattamolla Beach, a paradise on earth. A little away from Sydney, you will get to witness the sea, a lake and a waterfall -- all showcasing their exquisiteness at the very same place! Plan a whole day for the Wattamolla -- with food, extra clothes, books, music and so much more!
