As people started to return to their ancestral homes for Eid, traffic increased on different highways and in some places vehicles were seen standing still. Both passengers and drivers faced immense distress, while very few were seen following COvid-19 health safety guidelines.

Safety regulations overlooked in Eid odyssey

People have started leaving the capital to celebrate Eid back in their ancestral homes. Crowds are forming in Kamalapur Rail Station and Gabtoli bus terminal, among other exit points of the capital. Despite bus and train routes being opened, people are struggling to get tickets to specific destinations. Very little effort was visible in maintaining safety regulations.
