'I'm pretty chilled now, both on and off the field'
Shakib Al Hasan's witty demeanor was reflected in his reply to Faf du Plessis' tweet, in which the South Africa batsman congratulated the 34-year-old Bangladeshi all-rounder for claiming the player-of-the-series award during Tigers' 4-1 win against Australia in a T20I series earlier this month.
"Hey Shakib Al Hasan, congratulations on beating Oz and being named player of the series! Always a great moment!" Faf wrote on Twitter on Thursday, 17 days after Bangladesh's series against the Aussies ended.
Thanks @Faf1307 , I'm pretty chilled now, both on and off the field. And, yes you are right, it was indeed a massive moment! :) https://t.co/sWDZ3yWQYh; Shakib Al Hasan (@Sah75official) August 26, 2021
Faf might have been late in relaying his congratulatory message to Shakib but he did not forget to poke fun at the all-rounder. Faf added, "Hope you (Shakib) are not angry anymore ;)"
Faf probably referred to Shakib's infamous act of uprooting and throwing stumps at a fit of rage when an Umpire ruled against his appeal for an LBW during a Dhaka Premier League game back in June.
Shakib, however, was quick to reply.
"Thanks @Faf1307, I'm pretty chilled now, both on and off the field. And, yes you are right, it was indeed a massive moment! :)" Shakib replied to Faf's tweet.
