Star Sports Report

Bangladesh defeated Chinese Taipei 5-2 in their final match of the Under-20 Junior Asia Cup Hockey in Mokki, China, today to secure seventh place in the tournament.

Bangladesh played attacking hockey throughout the match and kept their opponents under sustained pressure.

Mohammad Rifat was the top scorer for Bangladesh with two goals, while Munna Islam, Tayyeb Ali and Mohammad Abdullah scored one goal each to complete a convincing victory.

Bangladesh, who played in the Junior World Cup last year, this time missed out on the opportunity after failing to finish inside the top five nations.
