'Pure joy': Football festival in Jaflong unites marginalised communities

Sylhet witnessed a vibrant day-long football festival on Saturday, bringing together enthusiastic youth from tea garden worker families and the Khasia indigenous community.

Held at the picturesque Jaflong Nokshiapunji Ground in Gowainghat upazilla, the event was part of the ongoing 'Youth Festival 2025,' running from December 30, 2024, to February 19.

Organised by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) in collaboration with the Sylhet Divisional and District Football Associations, the festival reflected the role of football in empowering marginalised communities and fostering unity through sport.
