Baridhara exact revenge on Rahmatganj
Uttar Baridhara Club exacted revenge on Rahmatganj MFS when they came from behind to hand a 2-1 defeat to the Old Dhaka Outfit in their Bangladesh Premier League encounter at the Bangabandhu National Stadium today.
The overall third triumph in 16 matches also helped Uttar Baridhara Club topple Rahmatganj MSF to grab ninth place in the 13-team table with 15 points. Rahmatganj, meanwhile, slipped to the 10th position with 14 points from 17 matches.
Both teams came into the game after a six-week break from the professional football league due to the national team's international engagements and completed the first half in a goalless draw.
After resumption, Ivory Coast's marksman Christ Remi gave Rahmatganj a lead in the 55th minute and two minutes later the lead was doubled only for referee Saymoon Sany to rule it out.
After conceding, Baridhara stepped up the attack as Uzbekistan defender Saiddoston Fozilov levelled the margin in the 71st minute.
Rahmatganj goalkeeper-cum-captain Rasel Mahmud Liton was given the marching order in the 88th minute and Uttar Baridhara Club grabbed the opportunity as Fozilov struck the winning goal from the spot in the stoppage time to take the revenge of their 1-3 loss in away match of the league.
