Tigers contingent off to South Africa

Bangladesh ODI squad were headed for a challenging South Africa tour as the Tigers contingent departed from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka today.

With the three-match ODI series, part of ICC ODI Super League, slated to begin on March 18 in Centurion, the Tamim Iqbal-led squad, split into two groups, departed earlier than the Test team, whose exclusive members are scheduled to fly to South Africa in the morning flight tomorrow.

The ODI squad will begin training from Monday after a daylong rest while the Test squad will get to hone their skills at the Gary Kirsten Academy under the supervision of Gary Kirsten alongside other familiar names, the likes of Ryan Cook and Justin Kemp.

Bangladesh, who currently sit at top of Super League with 100 points, are yet to win any away game against the Proteas, having played six Tests, nine ODIs and four T20Is so far.
