Afif gets injury scare
Bangladesh all-rounder Afif Hossain suffered an injury during practice at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today but it was learned that the young cricketer's injury wasn't anything serious.
The incident happened when Afif was facing right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed in the nets. One of Taskin's bouncers hit Afif on his right hand and the all-rounder was seen in pain. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) physio Julian Calefato quickly attended the player before escorting him out of the ground.
It was, however, learned that Afif is doing fine and is out of any imminent danger and is under supervision of the BCB medical team ahead of the Tigers' upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand, starting from September 1.
Afif has been in tremendous form lately, finishing the low-scoring five-match Australia T20Is earlier this month as the third-highest run-getter as the left-hander scored 109 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 122.47.
