Youths fail on Day-2

Despite a brilliant outing on the first day, Bangladesh were unable to continue their form and thereby went on to lose their plate stage semifinal fixture to Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) by five wickets, in the six-a-side Hong Kong World Sixes tournament at Hong Kong's Kowloon Cricket Club ground, yesterday.

In the five-overs-a-side affair, Bangladesh posted 73 for 2 as Afif Hossain scored the team highest with 31 runs off 13 balls before retiring.

Earlier in the day, Saif Hasan and his troops were unable to qualify for the cup stage as they suffered a defeat to Australia, the same opposition they beat in their final group stage game on the previous day.

Bangladesh were all-out on 84, Mahidul Islam top scored for his team with 30 runs off just eight balls but that was not enough as Australia reached the target with four balls to spare for the loss of just one wicket.
