Practice game washed out

The Bangladesh under-19 team's first practice game against Otago XI was washed out in Dunedin, New Zealand yesterday.

It was a lost opportunity for the youths to adjust to unfamiliar Kiwi conditions ahead of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. However, Bangladesh will play the two more practice matches against the same opponents on January 3 and 5 before heading to Christchurch for their World Cup campaign.

The junior Tigers will then take part in two official warm-ups against Afghanistan and Pakistan on January 8 and 10 respectively before taking the field against Namibia on January 13 in the opening Group C fixture of the event. The remaining two group matches, against Canada and England, will be held on January 15 and 18 respectively.
