On my window pane

NUJHAT ASLAM

Rain droplets,

On my window pane they stay –

Illuminated by the bright Sunrays,

Shedding sparks of rainbow on my grim face.

Rain droplets,

On my window pane they stay –

Opaque and isolated from the day,

Separating the skyline from my unending gaze.

Rain droplets,

On my window pane they stay –

Scattered like the evanescent memories,

Fading like a fallen breath at the day's end.

Rain droplets,

On my window pane they stay –

Withheld like the deepest despair,

Dripping like a painful drop of tear across my face.
