Architecture Department of DIU organise Project Fair

To inspire the students and increase their creativity, Department of Architecture of Daffodil International University organised a 10-day long "Project Fair" at university campus. Prof. Yousuf M. Islam, VC, inaugurated the fair on December 21, 2015. Prof. Dr. S.M Mahbub-ul Haque Majumder, Dean, FSIT; Prof. AMM Hamidur Rahman, Dean, FHSS; Prof. Dr. AKM Fazlul Haque, Registrar; Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Maowla Chowdhury; Prof. Khairul Anam, Head, Department of Architecture and a large number of faculty members were present at the inauguration programme. Projects made by the students of Fall semester 2015 took place in the Project Fair. The Project Fair will continue every day and will continue till December 31, 2015. The Project Fair is open for all walks of people.

"Green Brain 2015" held at RUET

IEEE RUET SB organised "Green Brain 2015", a national level inter university contest, at RUET campus on December 17-18, 2015. It was sponsored by The American Center, US Embassy Dhaka and the media partner of this programme was Desh TV while youth partner was SHOUT. 

Eng. Sheikh Md Allauddin, Chief Engineer, Northern Zone, BPDB, Rajshahi was present as chief guest. As special guest, Director of Student Welfare, Prof. Dr. N. H. M. Kamrujjaman Serker, Professor, Dept of Civil Engineering, RUET was present. Moreover, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Goffar Khan, Professor, Dept of EEE, RUET and Dr. S. M. Abdur Razzak, Professor, Dept of EEE, RUET were also present as the Organising chair and the Programme committee chair respectively.

There were contests under four categories: Project Showcasing, Idea Contest, Poster Designing and Article writing. Throughout these two days, three technical seminars and a special session entitled "Meet The Professionals" were held. 

Overall this whole programme was a tech fest where all the tech lovers assembled under one platform and fought for their place. IEEE RUET Student branch has always been dedicated to provide a platform for the students to show their potentials and help them develop their skills. With the motto "Advancing technology for humanity", IEEE RUET SB will always be working for those who also want to work for the betterment of humanity.

AIUB ARCHITECTURE WEEK 2016

Inspired by AIUB'S mission, vision and understanding rising global need for architectural education, Architecture department began its expedition in 2005. Architecture programme of AIUB is one of the only 7 IAB accredited programmes among more than 25 architecture schools in Bangladesh.

Department of Architecture AIUB is organising "AIUB ARCHITECTURE WEEK 2016" from January 4-7, 2016. To celebrate 10 years of Architecture at AIUB, this four-day programme includes International Student Design Competition, Lectures and Workshops by local and international experts, Student Work Exhibition, publications, cultural programme etc. The event will welcome the architecture students, architects and related professionals of the country.

The core attraction of the four days event is the presence of one of the distinguished personnel Francis D.K. Ching, who is widely recognised author of bestselling books addressing Architectural and Design Graphics. Moreover, the influential lecture series will be hosted by renowned eminent architects, Architect Mustapha Khalid Palash and Dr. M. Saleh Uddin including the famous D. K. Ching himself. An international Architecture Student Design Competition in association with Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) for Architecture students envisioning Bangladesh Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai UAE is also being organised on this occasion. These events also include the enthusiastic workshops on "Moving entourage in architectural animation by Prof. Dr. Saleh Uddin" and "Drawing Dhaka with Francis D. K. Ching". 

AIUB Architecture Department is proud to share its 10 years journey and achievements with profound creativity through the student project exhibition on the eve of 10 years celebration in its campus. A celebration ceremony is going to be arranged to cherish the journey with the students and professionals at the premise of IAB Centre on January 5, 2015. 19th International Mathematics Conference 2015 at BRACU

In collaboration with Bangladesh Mathematical Society, Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MNS) Department, BRAC University organised the 19th International Mathematics Conference from December 18-20, 2015 in Dhaka. The theme of the conference was "Mathematics: Enigma and Reality".

The inaugural ceremony of the conference was held on December 18, 2015 at BRAC Centre Inn, Mohakhali. Prof. Abdul Mannan, Chairman, UGC of Bangladesh was the chief guest while Prof. Sajeda Banu, President, Bangladesh Mathematical Society was the special guest. Welcome address was delivered by Prof. Munibar Rahman Chowdhury formerly of DU. Prof. A.A.Z. Ahmad, Chair, Organising Committee and Chairperson, Mathematics and Natural Sciences Department, BRACU presided over the ceremony. The invited speakers included Prof. Michel Waldschmidt of Universite Pierre et Marie Curie, France; Dr. Ding Liu of Xidian University, China; Dr. Binayak S. Chowdhury, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, West Bengal, India; and Dr. Absos Ali Shaikh from the University of Burdwan, West Bengal, India.

In the technical sessions, papers were presented on various aspects of mathematics and its applications. Talks were also given on mathematics education in Bangladesh and in China. The closing ceremony was held on December 20, 2015 at the auditorium of BRACU. Prof. Syed Saad Andaleeb, VC, BRACU was the chief guest. Prof. Md. Shahidul Islam, Secretary, Bangladesh Mathematical Society delivered the welcome address. Md. Maruf Ahmed, Conference Secretary, conveyed the vote of thanks. 

Intra-University Fresher's Multimedia Presentation Contest at EU

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) arranged the 2nd Intra-University Fresher's Multimedia Presentation Contest, Fall 2015 on December 23 at the Seminar Hall of Eastern University (EU) in association with Eastern University Computing Club (EUCC).

Fresher's in all departments of EU are taught Computer Fundamental course where Multimedia Presentation Skills are expected to be developed as an emphasised outcome of the course. This contest is devised as a tool to produce a competitive outcome. 
From each section only best two contestants were selected for second round. In the second round, a panel of seven judges selected the best five contestants. These five finalists presented in front of the Pro-VC of EU Prof. Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Chairperson of CSE Department Dr. Md. Mahfuzur Rahman and other distinguished guests. Their final ranks were declared by the Pro-VC. 
Ashfeka Rahman Mim, from CSE Department became the Champion, while first and second runners-up were Abu Bakkar Saud of Law Department and Quazi Jishan of Business Administration Department respectively.

With this contest a certified and presentable student resource pool has been created throughout the campus that they are expected to excel in different activities, especially in club/forum events. 

Inter Department Football Tournament 2015 at ASAUB 

Sports and Games Club of ASA University Bangladesh (ASAUB) organised Inter Department Football Tournament 2015 at Shyamoli Club Playground. Sixteen teams from different departments participated in the tournament. The tournament was sponsored by MOJO. The prize giving ceremony was held on December 24, 2015. Prof. Dr. Dalem Ch. Barman, VC of ASAUB was present as the chief guest of the programme and handed over the prizes among the winners. Prof. Dr. A.K.M. Helal uz Zaman, Treasurer, was present as the special guest while Jamal Uddin Ahmed, Manager (Event and Activation), Akij Food & Beverage Ltd. was present as the guest of honour in this event.

Md. Ashraful Haq Chowdhury, Additional Registrar and Proctor of ASAUB coordinated the football tournament. Kartik Chandra Mondal, Assistant Professor and Coordinator, Sports and Games Club of ASAUB extended his cooperation to make the event successful.
