Training on RMG sector held at EU

In association with Bangladesh Society for Human Resources Management (BSHRM), Eastern University (EU) Career Services and International Office (CSIO) organised a training on "How to Practice Compliance in Organisation - especially in RMG" on July 31, 2015 in EU Seminar Hall. The session was inaugurated by VCof EU Prof. Dr. Abdur Rab and conducted by Md. Kamruzzaman,EC Member and Fellow, BSHRM and General Manager (HR & Admin), PALMAL Group. 

Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Head of HR and Admin, Corporate Human Resources, Rangs Group, presented the presidential address for BSHRM; Abu Hena MD Rasel, Head of Career Services and International Office, EU; Abul Hashem Mozumder, Monira Akter, Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun, EC Members of BSHRM and other personnel of HR community from renowned institutions attended in this session. Among others faculty members from Faculty of Business, HRM major students (BBA & MBA) and HR officers of EUgot the opportunity to participate in the training. It was a great scope of meeting with a number of 100 senior and experienced HR professionals from various institutions.



Workshop on Enhancement of Teaching Quality at IUB

The third day-long workshop on "Enhancement of Teaching Quality" organised by the sub-project entitled "Pedagogical Development at Undergraduate and Master's Level" was held on July 30, 2015 at IUB. The objective of the workshop was to enable the quality of teaching at foundation level courses.  

Fifty five members of different faculties participated in the workshop while the resource person was the VC of IUB, Prof. M Omar Rahman. The topics covered were a. How to teach foundation level courses, b. How to deliver at introductory level, c. Maintaining integrity in multi-section courses, d. Ensuring objectivity in terms of explaining views, opinions and perspectives, and e. Collecting examples and cases from field work and real life experience.

The sub-project is funded by the Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP), under the UGC and IUB.


CILT Orientation Programme held at UIU

CILT (The Charter Institute of Logistics & Transport) Orientation Programme was held at United International University (UIU), organised by Institute of Business and Economic Research (IBER). Prof. Dr. M. Rezwan Khan, VC, UIU presided over the ceremonies while  Karar Mahmudul Hassan, President, CILT, Bangladesh Council  was present as the chief guest and Capt. Mohiuddin Abdul Kadir, Secretary, CILT, Bangladesh Council, was present as the special guest at the programme. Welcome speech was conducted by Prof. Dr. Salma Karim, Director, Institute of Business and Economic Research (IBER).

The speakers said this course helped in building skilled manpower in logistics, transportation sector in Bangladesh with a focus on maintaining professional standards. It also develops management skills and demonstrates personal abilities to prospective employers.

Among others present at the programme were different invited guest, students and faculty member.  


UGC officials visit EDU

A team of University Grant Commission (UGC) officials visited East Delta University (EDU), Chittagong recently at its Probortak Centre. Sayeed Al Noman, Founder Vice Chairman of EDU welcomed the delegates, while Prof. Dr. Mohabbat Khan, member of UGC and Prof. Dr. Siddique Ahmed Chowdhury, Treasurer of EDU were also present in the discussion. The delegates appreciated potential collaboration, cultural exchange opportunities, scholarship facilities, faculty exchange possibilities, working on joint research between organisations, institutions and universities of the foreign countries.


DIU signs agreement at AUAP forum in Thailand

Daffodil International University (DIU) signed over 20 memorandum of understandings (MoU) with top ranked universities from Taiwan, Philippines, Iran, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Mongolia and India at the 14th forum of Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) held from July 26 to 28, 2015 in Thailand.  Under these agreements, DIU agreed to work for student exchange, faculty exchange, research and publications, centres of excellence etc. through which DIU students will get the facility of studying these partner universities and enrich their global capabilities. Mohammed Emran Hossain, Director, Administration and Mohammad ShamsulHoque, assistant professor of Department of English, DIU attended the forum and signed MoU on behalf of the university. Some newly partner university of DIU are I-Shou University, Taiwan; Zhengzhou Xinlian University, China; The University of Tehran, Iran; Orkhon University, Mongolia; Isabela State University, Philippines; Universiti Kebangsaan, Malaysia; Jagran Lakecity University, India and many more.


KIV to conduct training programme at SEU 

Inauguration ceremony of a month-long IT training programme was held at the Seminar Hall of Southeast University (SEU) on July 27, 2015. VC of SEU Prof. Anwar Hossain was present at the event as chief guest, which was organised by the Department of Career Service. 

Among others, Pro-VC Prof. Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir Chowdhury, Registrar Maj. Gen. Kazi Fakhruddin Ahmed, psc (Retd.), representatives of KIV Myungah Kim and Seoyeon Lee and Deputy Director of DCS Afruza Sultana addressed at the event. Chief Coordinator of BOT, SEU Trust Wing Cdr. Syed Ahmed Kabir, fawc, psc (Retd.), chairs of different departments, faculty members, and students were present on the occasion. 

The month-long training programme will be conducted by Korea IT Volunteers (KIV) for SEU students.
