SEU organises rally on International Day against Drug and Illicit Trafficking
Southeast University (SEU) and its nine student clubs, aimed at observing International Day against Drug and Illicit Trafficking, organised an anti-drug rally on June 27, 2015 at Kemal Ataturk Avenue. VC of SEU Prof. Anwar Hossain inaugurated the rally. Among others, Pro-VC Prof. Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir Chowdhury, Registrar Maj. Gen. Kazi Fakhruddin Ahmed, psc (Retd.), Deans of different schools, Chairs of different departments and Coordinators of different clubs were present at the rally.
This is to be mentioned that the slogan for the anti-drug day this year is set by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) as "Let's develop our lives, our communities, our identities, without drugs".
ULAB organises seminar on Compact Modelling of MOSFET Transistor
Department of Computer Science and Engineering along with the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh organised a seminar on "Compact modelling of MOSFET transistor" on June 28, 2015. The seminar was held in the seminar room at ULAB and was conducted by Kazi Habib, former device modelling engineer at Peregrine Semiconductor, USA.
Prof. Dr. Rezaul Karim Mazumder, Head of Department, ETE; Prof. Dr. Sazzad Hossain, Head of Department, CSE; Dr. Sifat Momen, Course Coordinator, CSE along with students and other faculties of ULAB were present in the seminar.
Colours FM's Eid Campaign "Click with Colours"
For this Eid shopping, Colours FM 101.6 has a special arrangement called "Click with Colours". This special arrangement will go on for twenty days before Eid at ten different shopping malls in Dhaka.
During the month of Ramadan, these ten shopping malls will have Colours FM's Fun Booth for two days each. Participants will get to take fun pictures in these booths from 1 pm to 9 pm, then check-in with "Click with Colours" Facebook page and upload the picture. Selected winners will enjoy attractive Eid gift hampers. One can also get live updates from the mall in "Eider Tukinaki" from 2 pm to 3 pm. On top of that, the winners will also get to request three songs from the Fun Booth in "Colours Ek Dui Tin". This campaign will take place in, Shamim Plaza, Mascot Plaza (June 28-29), Eastern Plaza (July 6-7) and Pink City (June 30 and July 1).

BYLC launches junior youth leadership programme
Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC) held the opening ceremony for its seventh junior leadership training programme for secondary school students, "Building Bridges through Leadership Training Junior" (BBLT-J), at the American Center on June 25, 2015.
A total of 43 students were selected from 310 applicants from over 40 schools and madrasas for this award-winning programme which will commence from June 28 at BYLC Headquarters in Baridhara. At the BBLT-J program, participants from different educational backgrounds will learn to interact and communicate with each other by working in small groups and participating in team building exercises. They will also attend sessions on public speaking, diagnostic framework of leadership, and training on other techniques to effectively exercise the act of leadership. At the end of three weeks, participants will use their newly learned skills to find solutions to the different problems faced by a local community.
Summer Relief by Asha - The Light of Hope
Asha - The Light of Hope, initiated "Summer Relief", a community service event to provide water to rickshaw pullers. This student initiative was the first to raise awareness regarding the importance of hydration and pure drinking water, besides distributing water to rickshaw pullers in and around Uttara. Asha is undertaking a project to set up drinking water reservoirs all around the area, ensuring that rickshaw pullers have easy access to water in this summer heat. Flaxen Group sponsored the event and ATN Bangla covered the event.
Curtain falls on Ad Maker Bangladesh 2015 at NSU
North South University Young Entrepreneurs Society (NSU YES!), announced the top 3 teams as the winners of "Robi presents Ad Maker Bangladesh 2015 colored by Elite Paints" June 16, 2015.
This year, amongst the 100-odd participant teams hailing from educational institutions from around the country, only 12 teams made it through to the finals. For the Finale, the Top 12 teams were asked to design an IMC campaign for the Robi Cricket Anthem, as well as create their own music videos.
The winners were team "Challenge Accepted" from IBA, DU consisting of Ahmed Tashfiq Rafsan, Sami Tahsin, Abreshmee Haque.
