Rohingya man dies in ‘mine blast’ at border

A Rohingya refugee died today in what is believed to be landmine explosion on the other side of Bandarban border this afternoon, local authorities said.

The deceased was primarily identified as Nurul Islam, 45, our Cox's Bazar correspondent reports quoting Naikhhangchhari Sadar Union Parishad Chiarman Taslim Iqbal Chowdhury.

The incident took place around 3:00pm at Satmara Jhiri area in Naikhhangchhari Sadar.

Naikhhangchhari Police Station Officer-in-Charge AHM Touhid Kabir told The Daily Star that he has heard about the incident and police was dispatched at the spot.
