Rajshahi court asks govt to bear cost of case filed over error in Revisional Survey
A civil court in Rajshahi today ordered the government to bear the costs of a case in which an error was made in the Revisional Survey to determine the record of rights (khatian) of a farmer's land.
Judge Mohammad Moniruzzaman of Rajshahi's Paba Upazila Senior Assistant Judge's Court handed down the verdict.
The order said the government would bear the cost from the revenue department under control of Rajshahi's deputy commissioner.
The plaintiff, Abdus Sattar, has also been ordered to submit the details of all the expenses of the case to the court by December 15.
The court's bench assistant Md Selim Reza said the plaintiff Abdus Sattar was a poor farmer.
In a case filed in the same court in 2012, Abdus Sattar alleged that while creating the RS record, the wrong record of rights was mentioned for his land.
Due to this mistake, the plaintiff demanded that the proper record of his rights on his land be declared.
In response to this case, the government side accepted the truth of the plaintiff's claim.
After analysing the statements and evidence of both parties, the court today declared the rights of the plaintiff.
