Rail link with Khulna snapped after train derailment

Khulna's rail link with rest of the country snapped this evening after a train derailed in Kotchandpur upazila of Jhenidah.

Two bogies of Khulna-bound Sundarbans Express train from Dhaka veered off the tracks near Kotchandpur Railway Station around 5:45pm, said Golam Mostofa, station master of Kotchandpur Railway Station.

The derailment snapped the rail link between Khulna and the rest of the country, said Golam Mostofa.

A rescue train from Jashore will reach the spot and salvage the derailed bogies, our Jhenidah correspondent reports, quoting the station master.
