Pretending to be dentists: man, father-in-law arrested from Dhaka’s Khilgaon

A man and his father-in-law were arrested today by Rab. The duo had been "cheating patients", pretending to be dentists.

Md Nur Hossain studied up to class 3, and his son-in-law Md Jahidul studied up to class 10.

They had been treating patients at Panchaghar Dental Clinic in Dhaka's Khilgaon area, illegally using prescription pad of one Dr Jihan Kabir for long, according to Rab.

On information, a mobile court conducted a drive at the clinic and arrested the duo this afternoon, said Rab Executive Magistrate Palash Kumar Bosu, who led the drive.

The court also sentenced Nur to two years' imprisonment and Jahidul to one year for deceiving people in the name of medical treatment, the magistrate said.

Later, they were sent to jail.

The law enforcers also sealed off the clinic, the executive magistrate further said.
