Prepare to answer for graft: Law minister to Khaleda
Law Minister Anisul Huq today warned BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia that “she would have to answer to the public for her indulgence in corruption”.
“Instead of serving legal notice to the prime minister, prepare to answer to the public,” the law minister said while attending a programme in Brahmanbaria.
He was referring to the legal notice that Khaleda served to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina alleging “libel” and demanding an unconditional apology within 30 days.
In regard to the legal notice, Minister Huq said Khaleda’s move will meet an answer in the terms of law. “We will reply to Khaled’s notice through legal procedures.”
On December 7, Prime Minister Hasina placed claims that Khaleda has large sums of money stashed in the middle-eastern countries.
In response to such claims, BNP were threatening to file a lawsuit before finally serving a legal notice to the premier on December 20.
