Unite to unseat evil force: Fakhrul asks BNP men

Terming the ruling Awami League an evil force, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today called upon his party men to turn their grief into strength to unseat AL from power.

“Around 500 party men including M Ilias Ali became victim of enforced disappearance in the last five years. No evil force will be able to hang on to power if we get united,” Fakhrul said at a programme in Dhaka this afternoon.

Sylhet Division Sanghati Sammiloni organised the programme at the Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh marking five years of disappearance of BNP’s then organising secretary M Ilias Ali.

Ilias Ali, also a former lawmaker along with his driver went missing since the wee hours of April 18, 2012. Immediately after the incident, BNP claimed that government agencies have picked him up.

Police recovered the abandoned car of Ilias, near his Banani residence later. Locals said they noticed the abandoned car with all its doors flung wide open.
