Quader tells BCL not to taint AL’s image
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today called upon leaders and activists of his party’s student wing, Bangladesh Chhatra League, to stay away from misdeeds.
“Come to me if you (BCL men) need money… but refrain from wrongdoing,” Quader said while addressing a programme at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in Dhaka.
Assuring the party’s student activists of jobs, Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said: “I have been asked by the party chief to arrange jobs for you.”
Asking the student front leaders and activists not to do anything that taints the party’s image, Quader said the BCL leaders are locking horns at educational institutes over tender.
“This leads to the path of confrontation,” he said.
He also criticised senior leaders of Awami League as they are engaged in doing politics using the BCL men as a weapon to ensure their own interests.
“Why the Chhatra League leaders will be the sentinel of their benefactors’ interest and why will they stay at the drawing room of the party’s senior leaders,” he asked.
