Politicians responsible for corruption: Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today held the politicians responsible for corruption and asked them to take a lesson from the political ideology of Bangabandhu.

He also cited the rare instance of honesty and courage set up by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in politics.

“We, who are engaged in politics, can take a lesson from this. How many of the politicians can claim themselves honest? Where is the problem,” Quader said while addressing a function in Dhaka this noon.

“The corruption will come down to half if we politicians can keep ourselves free from corruption,” Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, said.

Claiming that there is nothing for a politician other than the people’s affection Quader said, “We will have to go near the people and will have to be honest to get the people’s love.”

Information and Research Sub-Committee of the ruling Awami League organised the programme to discuss on the historic speech of March 7, 1971.
